A private family is seeking an experienced, organized, and proactive Household Manager to support the smooth day-to-day operation of their home and family. This is primarily a household management position with some supplemental childcare responsibilities in collaboration with hands-on parents and a full-time Au Pair. The ideal candidate naturally anticipates needs, takes initiative, has excellent step-in/step-out intuition, and who enjoys creating systems that keep a busy household organized and running efficiently.
Responsibilities
The Household Manager will oversee a variety of household operations, including managing calendars and schedules, coordinating vendors and home maintenance, grocery shopping and errands, household organization, supplies and inventory, overseeing housekeeping services, family travel logistics, and special events. The role will also involve maintaining organized household systems, coordinating appointments and administrative tasks, and ensuring the home and family spaces remain orderly and well prepared.
Childcare responsibilities will be supplemental and include assisting with children's schedules, school and activity logistics, appointments, supplies, clothing and equipment, travel preparation, and occasional hands-on childcare. The Household Manager will work collaboratively with the family's existing caregivers and parents to provide consistency and support as needed.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable working independently, managing multiple priorities, communicating with vendors and service providers, and using sound judgment about when to handle matters independently versus bringing them to the family's attention.
