(OPEN) Summer Weekend Nanny/Family Assistant Needed on Beautiful Canandaigua Lake, NY!
Ages of Children: 1.5 & 5 years old
Start Date: ASAP (Recurring Summer Position)
Schedule: 1–2 weekend days, 4–8+ hours per day (flexible based on candidate preference)
Compensation: $25–35/hr, DOE

A warm, welcoming family who spends each summer on beautiful Canandaigua Lake is seeking a proactive, organized, and engaging Family Assistant/Nanny to support their busy weekends throughout the summer months! The family resides in New York City during the year but returns to the Finger Lakes from approximately mid-June through Labor Day each summer. They are hoping to find a dependable provider who enjoys becoming part of a family's summer traditions and would love to return year after year.
This role will primarily focus on helping the household run smoothly during busy weekends, while also providing attentive care for the family's two young children. The family enjoys hosting friends and extended family throughout the summer and would greatly appreciate an extra set of hands to help keep everything organized and running seamlessly. Responsibilities may include preparing and serving simple meals or snacks, tidying the kitchen and dining area after meals, helping organize children’s spaces, assisting with household organization, preparing for weekend gatherings or barbecues, running occasional errands, and jumping in wherever support is needed.
Childcare remains an important part of the position, particularly for the family's energetic 18-month-old and imaginative 5-year-old. The ideal candidate will enjoy engaging the children in age-appropriate activities, supervising outdoor play, accompanying the family during lake outings, and providing an extra set of attentive eyes during busy family gatherings. Because the family spends much of their time on and around the water, a strong swimmer who is highly safety-conscious and comfortable in a lakefront environment is essential.
The family is very flexible with scheduling and is happy to tailor shifts between approximately 4–8+ hours depending on the candidate's availability and preferences. They are looking for someone who is warm, proactive, adaptable, and happy to step into whatever is needed throughout the day—whether that's entertaining the children, helping prepare for guests, tidying after meals, or lending an extra hand during a busy weekend.

Requirements:
2+ years of professional childcare experience
Strong swimmer and highly safety-conscious
Safe, reliable vehicle
CPR/First Aid certified
