A warm and laid-back family in Cheektowaga, NY is seeking a nurturing, reliable, and engaging Part-Time Nanny to care for their sweet one-year-old son! The primary focus of this role will be spending time with their son through age-appropriate activities and play! He was born prematurely and spent several months in the NICU, so experience with premature babies or children with a more medically involved start would be a wonderful bonus. He is now a happy, active one-year-old and the family is looking for someone who will support his development while allowing him to safely explore and learn through play.
The family is comfortable with neighborhood walks and getting outside, but the nanny will not be expected to drive the child. Responsibilities are primarily child-focused, with very light household support such as cleaning bottles, tidying toys, and keeping the child’s spaces organized. The family also has a dog who simply needs to be let into the fenced backyard during the day.
The ideal candidate is warm, attentive, communicative, and confident caring for an active young toddler. The family values someone who is intuitive with children, able to troubleshoot as needs arise, and comfortable maintaining established routines. They especially appreciate a nanny who communicates clearly about how the child’s day is going and can provide consistency from one day to the next.
The family’s parenting approach is calm, structured, and focused on allowing their son to safely explore his limits. They value setting clear boundaries and following through calmly without big reactions, while also giving him appropriate freedom to try things independently. They are looking for someone who is comfortable working collaboratively with the parents and who can maintain consistent expectations.
This is a wonderful opportunity for a nanny who enjoys working with young children, values developmentally appropriate play, and wants to become a trusted and consistent part of a loving family’s routine.
Requirements:
2+ years of professional childcare experience
CPR/First Aid certified
