A warm and welcoming family in Pittsford, NY is seeking a nurturing, energetic, and proactive Career Nanny/Family Assistant to join their growing family! Both parents are physicians and are looking for a reliable, experienced caregiver who can provide exceptional care for their newborn while also supporting their two older boys as needed. With busy and sometimes unpredictable clinical schedules, reliability, flexibility, and strong communication are especially important to this family.
The primary focus of this role will be infant care. Responsibilities will include establishing a consistent routine around feeding and naps, supporting the transition from breast milk to bottles and eventually solids, tummy time / developmental activities, getting outside during the day, and helping the baby reach age-appropriate milestones. The family values a nanny who is comfortable with evolving nutritional needs. As the older boys are in school full-time, their care will generally be lighter and focused around school transportation, after-school activities, and engaging them during the bookends of the day.
In addition to childcare, the role includes Family Assistant support such as laundry (primarily for the children), light tidying during nap times, maintaining routines, helping prepare snacks and occasionally dinner. The nanny may also assist with transportation for the older boys, seeing the oldest on/ off the bus (which picks up right in front of the house), possible preschool pickup, and driving to activities when needed. The family values someone who notices what needs to be done and takes initiative without needing detailed instructions.
The ideal candidate is nurturing, energetic, dependable, and a true self-starter, with professional infant-care experience. Reliability is extremely important to this family, as both parents have demanding medical careers and need to know their caregiver will arrive on time and confidently manage the children throughout the day. The family appreciates a caregiver who enjoys enriching children through books, music, crafts, outdoor play, and other screen-free activities. A Montessori background is a bonus but not required. Spanish language skills would also be a wonderful bonus, but are not required.
The family describes their parenting style as intentional, communicative, and respectful. Routine and consistency are highly valued, as is helping the children develop independence, resilience, and consideration for others. The older boys are bright, active, and loving. The ideal nanny will confidently set appropriate boundaries while keeping up with their energy and encouraging their curiosity.
This is a wonderful opportunity for an experienced nanny who loves newborns and enjoys becoming a trusted, long-term member of a busy and close-knit family. The family is hoping to find someone who will make a long-term commitment and grow alongside their children as their needs evolve.
Requirements:
2+ years of professional childcare experience
Safe and reliable vehicle (we will provide car seats and boosters)
CPR/First Aid certified
Non-smoker
Willingness to make a long-term commitment
