A warm, welcoming family in Rochester, NY is seeking a proactive, flexible Nanny/Family Assistant to support their two sweet and active boys! With Mom and Dad balancing demanding careers and an ever-changing schedule, they are hoping to welcome a reliable, engaging caregiver who can help keep both the children and household running smoothly. While childcare will be the focus of the role, the family would love someone who naturally takes initiative and enjoys stepping in wherever support is needed.
The primary focus of this role will be caring for the family's energetic two-year-old while providing after-school care and transportation for their oldest son. Responsibilities include creating engaging activities, attending story times or swim classes, preparing meals / snacks, transportation for school pick-ups & extracurricular activities, and supporting evening routines. The family values caregivers who are thoughtful, attentive, and creative, and who genuinely enjoy keeping children active, engaged, and learning through play.
The role also includes Family Assistant responsibilities such as laundry, grocery shopping, household organization/restocking, light meal preparation, running errands, researching activities or camps, coordinating simple household tasks, and helping keep the family's busy home operating efficiently. During nap times or while the children are in school, the nanny will have dedicated time to complete these responsibilities. The family travels throughout the year and offers guaranteed hours during those times, with household projects and organizational tasks taking the place of childcare responsibilities.
The ideal candidate is a self-starter who is organized, dependable, and highly adaptable. Someone who notices what needs to be done without being asked, and is comfortable with changing schedules will thrive in this role. Professionalism and discretion are especially important, as Dad is a physician and the family highly values confidentiality. The family describes their parenting style as intentional, with clear expectations, consistency, and respect at the center of their home. They are looking for someone who will support those values while becoming a trusted extension of their family.
This is a wonderful opportunity for a nanny who enjoys balancing childcare with Family Assistant responsibilities, appreciates variety in their day, and is excited to become a long-term, dependable presence for a welcoming and appreciative family.
