(OPEN) Communicative and Engaging Part-Time Temporary Nanny Needed for Warm and Friendly Family in Manlius, NY!

Ages of Children: 3-year-old and occasional care for 6-year-old

Contract Dates: ASAP through end of August, 2025

Schedule: Thursdays 11:00am-3:30pm and Fridays 8:30am - 3:30pm 

Compensation: $20-25/h (net/take-home pay after taxes)

A kind and welcoming family in Manlius, NY is seeking a patient, engaging, and nurturing nanny to care for their sweet and energetic 3-year-old! While the primary focus will be on their daughter, occasional care for her 6-year-old brother will be needed on school holidays or the occasional day at home. This is a temporary role, as the family has secured a daycare spot for their youngest beginning in September, 2025. 

This family describes their 3-year-old daughter as an active and playful child who loves spending time outdoors when it’s sunny, engaging in creative activities, and going on small outings to the library and local parks. She still takes an afternoon nap and enjoys structured choices to help her with decision-making. Their 6-year-old son is neurodivergent, and thrives with patience and understanding. The family would love to work with a caregiver who has experience working with neurodivergent children, or who is open to learning how to best support his needs.

This family follows a gentle parenting approach, focusing on guidance through discussion and positive reinforcement. They are open to all childcare backgrounds and value qualities such as reliability, warmth, and someone who takes a proactive approach to their days. General responsibilities will include engaging the 3-year-old in fun and developmentally appropriate activities, light child-related tidying, and occasional meal prep. The family has a fenced-in backyard, which is perfect for short outdoor play breaks!

Requirements:

2+ years of professional childcare experience 

CPR/First Aid certified

Experience with or willingness to learn about neurodivergent children

Up-to-date vaccinations preferred
