A warm, thoughtful Fairport, NY family is seeking a nurturing, experienced, and developmentally-minded nanny to support their sweet and curious 1.5-year-old son! Both parents work from home and are looking for a collaborative, gentle caregiver who will be a true partner in supporting their child’s growth, exploration, and day-to-day routine as he becomes increasingly active and mobile.
This role centers on engaged, intentional toddler care with a strong focus on developmental milestones, gross motor skills, sensory play, and age-appropriate learning through play. Their little one is a happy, easygoing child who thrives with responsive, loving care and benefits from a calm, attentive presence. The family lives in the Village of Fairport and loves the idea of walking outings—library visits, neighborhood strolls, and weather permitting outdoor adventures are encouraged.
The family practices a very responsive, “lead with love” parenting style and is seeking a nanny who is gentle, patient, emotionally attuned, and confident supporting a toddler through transitions, big feelings, and growing independence. During nap times, support with simple meal prep and child-related household tasks will be appreciated. This may include preparing easy meals, assisting with dishes, toddler laundry, and light tidying—someone who naturally “sees a need and fills a need” will be a wonderful fit. Experience with simple meal prep and/or baby-led weaning is a plus, as the family values guidance and confidence around feeding.
The family also has a lake house in Canandaigua and may occasionally spend time there from late spring through fall; a nanny open to some flexibility during those months is a bonus, though not required.
The ideal candidate is warm, proactive, reliable, and truly passionate about early childhood development. Someone with strong toddler experience who brings thoughtful ideas, a steady presence, and a collaborative mindset will be a wonderful match for this family!
