A warm, entrepreneurial, and easygoing family in West Irondequoit, NY is seeking a proactive, creative, and engaging Nanny/Family Assistant to support their two independent and fun-loving children! With both parents running multiple businesses and balancing busy schedules, they are hoping to welcome a confident and capable caregiver who can help keep afternoons and household routines running smoothly while creating a fun and active environment for the kids.
The childcare component of the role will involve after-school and summer care, transportation, and creating engaging experiences. During the summer, the children attend camp together from approximately 9:00am - 3:30pm nearby. Responsibilities include camp and school pickups, helping the children transition home, planning activities, and keeping them engaged with outdoor play, crafts, and adventures around the neighborhood. The family lives right on the lake and spends a lot of time outdoors enjoying their large yard, beach area, and local playgrounds. They use a street-legal golf cart for neighborhood transportation, which the nanny may use as well. Strong swimming skills are essential, as comfort around water and active supervision are important.
The Family Assistant component of the role will involve tasks such as grocery shopping, preparing lunches and snacks for the children, family laundry, light housekeeping tasks, organization, and helping maintain the flow of a busy household. The family is open to tailoring responsibilities depending on the interests and desired hours of the right candidate.
The ideal candidate is active, creative, confident, and highly engaging. The family describes themselves as very “go-with-the-flow” and values someone who is proactive, adaptable, and comfortable stepping into a dynamic environment. The family appreciates Montessori principles around independence and empowering children and would love someone who naturally supports curiosity, creativity, and age-appropriate responsibility. Educational support or tutoring experience would also be considered a bonus!
This is a wonderful opportunity for a nanny who enjoys working with active school-age children, appreciates flexibility and independence, and is excited to become a trusted and supportive presence in a welcoming family.
