A warm and welcoming first-time family in Cazenovia, NY is seeking a calm, experienced, and nurturing Nanny / Family Assistant to care for their infant daughter! This is a wonderful opportunity for a thoughtful caregiver who enjoys working with young babies and is equally comfortable supporting the overall flow of the household.
Both parents are working professionals, with Mom primarily working from home for the next few months. She does travel for work 1–2 times per month and would love a nanny who is open to occasional domestic travel (typically 3 days per trip) to accompany her and baby. When travel is not required, some flexibility in scheduling during those weeks will be appreciated. The family will provide the schedule at least a month in advance.
The primary focus of this role is attentive, loving infant care. Their daughter is currently in a newborn stage and a great sleeper, with plans to implement more structured routines over time. The ideal nanny will feel confident supporting feeding, naps, and development while following the family’s preferences and evolving routines.
During downtime, the family would appreciate support with light Family Assistant tasks to help keep the home running smoothly. These include tidying common areas, family laundry, organizing baby and household supplies, putting away groceries, and taking note of any household inventory that may need stocking up, etc. There is also a friendly ~30 lb dog in the home; care is minimal and may include letting the dog out as needed.
The ideal candidate brings 5+ years of professional childcare experience, including strong infant experience, along with a history of longevity in past roles. They are warm, nurturing, and naturally calm in demeanor, while also being organized, proactive, and willing to jump in where needed. This loving, first-time family is still developing their parenting style and is seeking a nanny who will respect their preferences, build trust, and grow with them, while remaining flexible and collaborative as grandparents may provide occasional support.
This is a wonderful opportunity for a professional nanny seeking a long-term role with a kind, communicative family who values both high-quality childcare and thoughtful household support!
Requirements:
5+ years of professional childcare experience (infant experience required)
Comfortable with occasional domestic travel
Safe and reliable vehicle
CPR/First Aid certified
Willingness to make a long-term commitment
