Kind and welcoming first-time parents in Preble, NY are seeking a calm, nurturing, and attentive full-time nanny to care for their infant son! The family lives on a beautiful working farm and is looking for a dedicated caregiver who will provide loving, individualized care as they adjust to getting back to work as new parents.
Their little one was born in September and spent some time in the NICU early on. He is doing very well and continues to thrive, though he currently takes a daily medication related to early blood sugar regulation, which he is expected to outgrow. Any monitoring needs would be clearly explained, and Mom is comfortable providing guidance and support if needed.
These loving parents describe their son as a very smiley, content baby who loves being talked to and engaged. He enjoys tummy time, interaction, and connection, and his cues are generally easy to read. He is currently doing contact naps and baby-wearing, and the family would love a nanny who is responsive, patient, and aligned with an infant-led approach. Experience with infants and an understanding of developmental milestones is highly valued. The family is hoping to begin working with a nanny before Mom officially returns to work in March in order to allow for a smooth transition period.
This role is focused almost entirely on infant care, including feeding, naps, developmental play, and maintaining a calm, nurturing routine. As he grows, outings such as stroller walks, trips to the library, or visits to the park are encouraged. Additional help with child-related tidying and family laundry would be appreciated when time allows.
The ideal candidate will be warm, gentle, and confident with infants, and excited to support first-time parents as they learn and grow. A background or interest in infant development, Montessori-inspired care, or baby-led weaning (not required) is a plus. A candidate who speaks a second language (German, French, or Spanish) or who has an interest in organic or regenerative farming would be an especially wonderful bonus!
This is a lovely opportunity for a nurturing nanny who enjoys infant care and would love to work with a kind, grounded family as they navigate new parenthood!
Requirements:
2+ years of professional childcare experience
CPR/First Aid certified (or willing to become certified)
