(OPEN) Proactive and Nurturing Nanny/Family Assistant for Kind and Professional Family in Syracuse, NY!

Ages of Children: 4 years and 10 months
Start Date: ASAP
Schedule: 15-25 hours over 2-3 days/week (ideally Tuesday and Friday, with potential to add Thursday). Days of the week may be flexible for the perfect candidate!
Compensation: $25-30/h DOE

A warm and vibrant Syracuse, NY family is seeking an experienced, proactive, and nurturing Family Assistant/Nanny to support their household and two young daughters! Typical hours will generally fall between 8:00 am and 5:30 pm, with some flexibility. With both parents balancing full schedules—Mom working full-time (remotely part of the week), and Dad in a busy, public-facing career—they are looking for a professional caregiver who can provide dependable childcare while also assisting with household management, meal prep, and errands. The family is hoping to establish a long-term relationship with the right person and have them become a trusted and integral part of their household.

This role blends hands-on childcare with family support. Responsibilities include all childcare-related duties, engaging activities that encourage curiosity and independence, and planning enriching outdoor play and outings to the local library, parks, and similar! These loving parents describe their 4-year-old as outgoing (a little “chatterbox”, to be exact!), imaginative, and full of personality, who adores activities that tap into her love of building, singing, reading, and storytelling. The family has found that she responds well to loving, clear, and consistent boundaries, as well as validating feelings and solution-oriented problem solving. Their sweet 10-month-old is active and endlessly curious, requiring attentive supervision and gentle guidance as she explores the world around her. Family Assistant duties include lending a hand with family laundry, light tidying common areas as needed, grocery shopping, meal prep, and errands as needed. Occasional overnight or travel support may also be requested with advance notice. Candidates should also be comfortable working around pets, as the family has a sweet and energetic pup that will need occasional attention by letting her outside into their fenced yard.

Someone who is skilled at managing household systems for a busy family, while maintaining warmth, professionalism, and discretion at all times will be a wonderful fit!

Requirements:

2+ years of professional childcare experience

CPR/First Aid certified

Safe and reliable vehicle

Ability to lift up to 35 lbs
