A thoughtful and welcoming family in Pittsford, NY is seeking a nurturing, engaged, and dependable full-time nanny to care for their two young daughters! They are ideally hoping for an immediate start, though are happy to accommodate a later start date through September for the right candidate.
This family places a strong emphasis on connection, kindness, healthy living, outdoor exploration, and intentional parenting. They follow a very low-screen lifestyle and try to minimize personal phone use when the children are present. A nanny who can prioritize hands-on play, outdoor time, reading, music, creativity, and meaningful interaction throughout the day will be a wonderful fit!
The oldest child is affectionate, imaginative, and loves music, hiking, and being silly, while the youngest is active, social, assertive, and highly verbal for her age. These loving parents describe both girls as very happy children who thrive with one-on-one connection, outdoor time, and involvement in everyday life.
Responsibilities will primarily revolve around attentive childcare including planning engaging activities, outdoor play, walks, reading, crafts, imaginative play, and outings such as museums or playgrounds once comfort and trust are established. Additional responsibilities include preparing simple meals and snacks for the children, light child-related tidying, and letting the family dog out during the day as needed. The family values a whole-foods plant-based approach to nutrition and typically serves the children the same meals enjoyed by the rest of the family, rather than separate “kids’ meals.” They are hoping to find a provider who feels comfortable supporting and aligning with this approach while in the home.
The family practices a respectful, child-led parenting style centered around communication, emotional regulation, and helping the children understand boundaries in a calm and supportive way. Mom works from home and values open communication while also empowering the nanny to confidently take the lead throughout the day.
Previous long-term nanny experience is strongly preferred, though the family is ultimately most focused on finding someone who aligns naturally with their values, lifestyle, and approach to parenting!
