This warm and welcoming family in Webster, NY is seeking a kind, playful, and neuroaffirming nanny to support their imaginative 5-year-old! This family also has a 7-year-old child who will attend school full days and will not require care. Their 5-year-old is diagnosed with ADHD and Autism (level 1), and will receive therapeutic services during some afternoon hours throughout the week. This child thrives with caregivers who are calm, collaborative, and deeply respectful, and the ideal candidate will bring a gentle presence, enjoy imaginative play, crafts, messy sensory projects, and video games like Roblox and Mario Kart!
The family uses a low-demand, child-led approach to parenting, valuing connection over correction. Their child responds best to invitations to play when approached with curiosity and openness, rather than direct questions or demands. A nanny who is observant, relaxed, and comfortable going with the flow will be a great fit, as maintaining a low-pressure household is very important to this family. Some days may include quiet play or screen time, while others involve creative projects or light outdoor adventures. It's especially important that the caregiver feels confident supporting a child through moments of dysregulation. Someone who will remain calm, present, and emotionally regulated themselves while holding boundaries for safety and offering co-regulation when needed.
Mom is a stay-at-home parent who will often be in and out of the home. Clear, respectful communication and comfort working alongside a parent are key. During quiet periods or if the child is out with Mom, the family would love help with light household tasks, such as tidying play areas, folding laundry, loading the dishwasher, meal prep, family errands, or organizing toys.
The household includes two friendly cats, a large lovable dog who attends daycare during the day, and a small Yorkie who lives with Grandma in an attached in-law suite. Grandma may come and go throughout the day, and Dad occasionally works from home as well.
This role is ideal for someone with a collaborative, caring approach, and who is excited to build trust slowly and playfully. Prior experience, either in a professional or personal capacity, with neurodivergent children is required.
If you’re creative, compassionate, and love messy fun and meaningful connection—we’d love to hear from you!
