A welcoming and down-to-earth family in Pittsford, NY is seeking a nurturing, proactive, and communicative nanny/family assistant to support their busy household! This role is ideal for a candidate who is skilled at supporting morning routines, and who enjoys working as a collaborative partner to parents who value consistency, communication, and kindness.
The position will begin in September, and will primarily involve morning support, school drop offs and pickups, and spending the morning with the family’s two youngest children. The nanny will assist with the final stages of getting the older children out the door—packing lunchboxes, helping with socks and shoes, brushing teeth, and making sure everyone is set for the day. The 8-year-old catches the bus around 8 AM, and the two middle children attend nearby preschools on varying schedules. The nanny will handle drop-offs for the 3 and 4 year olds, and spend the remainder of the morning with the family’s easygoing infant, as well as the 3-year-old on mornings when they do not attend preschool.
Family Assistant duties include keeping family laundry flowing throughout the week, wiping down counters, light tidying of common areas, grocery shopping, and occasional meal prep for the children/packing lunchboxes. The family is open to offering additional hours for candidates who’d like to take on a bit more in the afternoons or when travel coverage is needed. There may be opportunities for overnight care with advanced coordination.
The family’s ideal candidate is nurturing, consistent, and a clear communicator, possesses a genuine passion for working with children, and is confident in holding kind but firm boundaries when needed. Someone who models emotional awareness, helps reinforce healthy boundaries, and is collaborative with these kind parents will be a wonderful fit!
This family is excited to partner with a provider who will actively engage their children, get out and about to local parks and adventures, and become a valued part of their daily rhythm for years to come!
