(OPEN - NATIONWIDE SEARCH) Polished, Highly Experienced, and Detail-Oriented House Manager needed for Dynamic Multi-Residence Family in Rochester, NY and Surrounding Area!
Compensation: $90,000–$120,000/year DOE
Benefits: 3 weeks PTO, sick days, paid holidays, health insurance reimbursement up to $1,000/month, annual performance bonus of up to 10% of salary, relocation support for the perfect candidate
Schedule & Expectations:
The family is in residence a total of (approximately) 3–4 months per year from May-October. During these periods, the House Manager must be flexible and available for extended hours, including evenings and weekends, to ensure smooth operations, and must remain on-call for emergencies year-round. When the family is not in residence, there may be the opportunity for some of the workload to be managed remotely.
The House Manager plays a vital leadership role in overseeing the daily operations of a multi-residence private household. Reporting to the Director of Residences, this individual ensures seamless coordination between staff, vendors, and principals while upholding the highest standards of service, organization, and discretion.
The ideal candidate understands and embodies “white glove” service—anticipating needs with poise, demonstrating excellent judgment, and showing step-in/step-out intuition to maintain the family’s privacy while ensuring every detail is handled with care.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and schedule the housekeeping team; ensure cleanliness and organization are consistently maintained.
Manage household supply inventories and procurement of groceries, goods, and equipment for multiple properties.
Coordinate third-party vendors, facilities maintenance, and design/construction project support.
Conduct routine property inspections and identify areas needing attention.
Recruit, train, and supervise housekeeping staff; lead with professionalism and integrity.
Plan, manage, and prepare meals aligned with the principal’s dietary needs, or train others accordingly.
Manage household calendars, appointments, medications, and travel logistics.
Oversee family vehicle maintenance, pet care coordination, and moves between residences.
Collaborate with the Facilities Manager at vacation properties and assist with special events.
Qualifications:
Prior experience in a similar high-level private home or estate management role required
Proven ability to deliver white glove service with the utmost discretion and attention to detail
Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license
Tech-savvy; proficient in Microsoft Office and digital recordkeeping
Physically able to lift up to 30 lbs and perform tasks involving repetitive movement.
Must sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) as a condition of employment
